Brian offers Baseball Pitching Instruction at Corona Cages

 

2004-2005:  After graduating from La Sierra High School Lamers played his first 2 years of collegiate baseball under coach Jeff Harlow at Chaffey Community College in Rancho Cucamonga. In 2004 he was part of the squad that made it to the super-regional and was one game away from going to the final four. Also helped lead the conference-leading pitching staff in strikeouts. Brian recorded the first Chaffey playoff win in over 11 years against East LA in a relief appearance. Finished Chaffey with a combined 7-4 record. Lamers was also among the state leaders in ERA in 2005 with a 1.80 in 20 innings of work. After his two years were up he accepted a scholarship to Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, MO.
 


2006:   All-MIAA second team selection. Led the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats in wins (7), innings pitched (67), batters struck out (52), shutouts (2), games started (11), and batters faced (317). Tied for first in the MIAA in for shutouts. Recorded 52 strikeouts to only 15 walks in 67 innings.


2007:  Named to Rawlings ABCA Central Region second team, second team all MIAA, set the school record for innings pitched in a season with 90.2 innings of work. Led the team in ooponent batting average (.249), wins (9), innings pitched (90.2), strikeouts (54), and starts (13). Earned MIAA pitcher of the week twice. In conference statistics he was second in wins, third in innings pitched per game, third in complete games, fourth in starts, sixth in opponent batting average, and seventh in ERA (3.28). Ended Northwest career fifth all time best ERA, fifth innings pitched (157.2), tied for fifth in shutouts (3), sixth in career wins (16), sixth in complete games (8), and ninth in strikeouts (106) in only two years of play. In his 157.2 career innings of work, Lamers only walked a total of 33 batters, while striking out an impressive 106.


Graduated from Northwest Missouri State in 2008 with a degree in History and Sociology and is currently working towards his teaching credential at Cal State San Bernardino
