Hitting: Rod Carew, Steve Kiefer, Mickey Klutz, Phil Nevin, Dave Castillo, Dave and Casey Snow, Bill French and Don Barbara. Joe was a career 400 hitter in HS.  Known for his outstanding mechanics and mental toughness and stellar defense at first base and on the mound.

• Selected First Team All League Junior and Senior Years
•  Selected All CIF Junior and  Senior Year (led team to CIF Finals)
• Second most wins of any left -hander in school’s history
• Total of three errors at first base in varsity career (3 years).

Education:

Graduated from Whittier Christian High School and Concordia University (Irvine) with BA in Communications and Business Administration (3.5 GPA). Also attended Vanguard University (Costa Mesa): Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from Cal Baptist University (Riverside).  Currently preparing to become certified personal trainer.

• Individual awards: all-league (two years), first team all-CIF (two years), all-county, college Academic All-American.
