Cost is $60.00 a player for a 6 week league

CORONA CAGES HITTING LEAGUE RULES

1.        Teams choose their team name at sign up.  First come, first served.

2.        Team size: 3 and 4 player teams.

3.        We will have four age groups 8-10, 11-13, 14Up and Family

4.        Speeds: 8-10 = 40 mph, 11-13 = 50 mph, 14Up = 60 mph, Family speed = ?

5.        Family Teams will consist of moms, dads, guardians and players.  Family teams need at least one Mom, Dad or legal guardian.

6.        There will be a prize for the 1st place team and MVP; The league MVP will be determined by the player who has the most points, regardless of his/her team win/loss record.

7.        Games will be 7 innings in length for a 3 person team - around a half hour in duration (around one hour in duration if 2 teams play at the same time.)

8.        Games will be played for 6 weeks - one game a week.

      NOTE: Teams need not be present at the same time. Each team will need to come and play their game before the week is up or they will forfeit for the week and receive zero points.  Then there will be a one day play-off for the top 4 teams - all 4 teams must be present on play-off day.

9.        *No Make Ups, No Exceptions.

10.   Helmets are to be worn at all times.

11. Each team will need to call Corona Cages at (951) 734-0228 to set a time and day to come in and hit each week.

12.   Each person will be scored on 7 pitches per inning (every pitch will count  towards your pitch limit) for 7 innings. At the end of an inning, the team will have a total score for the team for that inning.  At the end of 7 innings the team will have a total score for the game.

13.   Pitches per inning: The pitching machine will throw 24 pitches.  The first batter will try to get points from the first 7 pitches,

14.   The pitch thrown while the batters are switching is a "switch ball".  The switch ball is a non scoring ball and should not be hit.  The switch balls are 8th 16th and 24th pitches.

15.   The 2nd batter will hit the 9th through 15th pitch and the 3rd batter will hit 17th through 23rd pitches.

Scoring

16. If you take a pitch, it will be counted and scored as a zero; a grounder not touching the back net is a zero; a ball hitting the ceiling nets are scored as a zero; fouls and tips are also zero points.

17.  Balls that hit the boundary lines count for the higher point value.

1 Point One bounce to the net (side or back net)
2 Points Line drive to side or back net, above first rope
3 Points Line drive to side or back net, above second rope
4 Points Line drive to side or back net, above third rope
5 Points A bunt that stays on the green and must be a fair ball
6 Points A bunted ball that stays on home plate
7 Points Inside pitching machine hole
10 Points Inside home run square at top of back net (ball cannot hit top net)
